Health and Kinesiology

All graduate students are strongly encouraged to fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  The institutional code for UTSA is 010115.  More information on the FAFSA may be found on the UTSA Office of Financial Aid web site.  Information on Telecampus courses and payment may also be found here.

A variety of scholarships and grants are available for graduate students.  More information may be obtained from the UTSA Graduate School.  The UTSA Scholarship Office lists specific scholarship requirements and deadlines for applying.  Graduate students are encouraged to visit this site for potential funding opportunities.

The department offers graduate assistantships to qualified students who are currently enrolled in graduate coursework in the department of Health and Kinesiology.

To be eligible for a GA position, students must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be a graduate, degree-seeking student in good academic standing in the Health and Kinesiology graduate program.
  • Currently enrolled in coursework for the semester(s) the student is applying for a GA position.
  • Be eligible for financial assistance (submit documentation of financial aid award).
  • Complete the application form with ALL required documents attached (see below).

Applications for the 2009-2010 academic year will be available in July.

  • Personal statement (typed) of how you feel a GA position would benefit you (aside from the monetary value).
  • A copy of your admissions letter from the UTSA Graduate School.
  • A copy of your Conditions of Admission sheet.
  • Statement of financial aid award (available on UTSA ASAP account).
  • A professional resume.
  • 2 letters of recommendation from persons who have supervised you in a work-related setting.
